James Beauchemin is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Boise State University. He received his PhD from Ohio State University and MSW from the University of Vermont. Primary research interests include wellness promotion, integrated body-mind-spirit (I-BMS) interventions, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, mindfulness, and mental health. Recent and upcoming publications include Development of the Solution-Focused Wellness for HIV (SFWH) Intervention for Women; A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis on INtegrative Body-Mind-Spirit Practices for Schizophrenia: Implications for Social Work Practice; Multidimensional Wellness Promotion in the Health and Fitness Industry; and Solution-Focused Wellness: A Randomized Controlled Trail of College Students. In the past he has presented papers and conducted trainings at regional, national, and international conferences. In addition, his expertise in health and wellness-related behavior change has led to opportunities such as serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Exercise, and providing wellness-focused training for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
