  Ashley Liu is a narrative theorist and digital humanist. She is in the final year of her Ph.D. studies at the University of Pennsylvania and working as a lecturer of modern Chinese literature at the University of Maryland. She specializes in theoriest of fiction, the history of ficion in modern and premodern China and Japan, literary exchanges between China and Japan, and digital humanities. She speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean and conducts research in modern and Classical Chinese and Japanese. She can program in Python and is a web and database developer.
