  I work on contemporary diaspora fiction and film but my research interests include gender studies, urban studies and transnationalism. I work with the literary and cinematic texts of contemporary diaspora female writers and film directors, such as Jhumpa Lahiri, Chitra Divakaruni, Bharati Mukherjee, Monia Ali and Gurinder Chadha. My main focus lies in the interconnectedness of gender, city space and food studies.
