Danne Ojeda (CU/NL) is Associate Professor in the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Danne's work engages contemporary communication design, art, practice and theory. She has worked as a Professor of Art History at the Higher Institute for the Arts and Letters, University of Havana. She was a UNESCO research fellow at the Jan van Eyck Academy, Post-Academic Institute for Research and Production in Fine Art, Design and Theory, Maastricht, The Netherlands. She taught graphic design at the Modern International Art and Design Academy, Chongqing Technology and Business University, China. In 2003, she founded d-file studio in Amsterdam, —a platform for concept and project development in the areas of visual art, design and theory—, from which she has mainly worked for and collaborated with cultural institutions that include the Singapore Art Museum (SAM), the Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore, the National Institute of Fine Arts, Mexico, among others. Danné has published, lectured on and curated exhibitions related to contemporary art and design. She is the author of the book Diagonal. Essays on Contemporary Cuban Art (Jan Van Eyck Editions, 2003), among other publications. She is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Communication Design, Interdisciplinary and Graphic Design Research, edited by Routledge/Taylor & Francis. Her design works have been recognized with the Chicago Athenaeum—Good Design Awards (US), Red Dot Design Award: Communication Design (DE), IF International Forum Design Award (DE), among others. Her complete publication and exhibition design oeuvre commisioned by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) was awarded Asia's Top Designers Award, Singapore Design Award 2014.
