Mario Slugan is a Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions Fellow at the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies, Ghent University and a Postdoctoral Associate Fellow at the Department of Film and Television Studies, University of Warwick. He holds degrees in Computer Science, Comparative Literature, Philosophy, Slavic Languages and Literatures, and Film and Television Studies, and German Studies. He works on the intersection of film theory, history and philosophy. He has presented at numerous international conferences (Society for Cinema and Media Studies, Modern Languages Association, Fillm-Philosophy, British Society for Aesthetics, etc.) and has published in journals such as Film and Philosophy, Projections: Journals for Movies and Mind, Early Popular Visual Culture and Slavic Review. He is the author of the books - Montage as Perceptual Experience (Camden House, 2017) and Noel Carrol on Film (I.B. Tauris, 2018, forthcoming). His third monograph - Imagination and Fiction in Early Cinema - is currently under peer-review.
