Improve EPI performances in Togo

1. Planning and resource mobilization

Planning activities will be improved at each level

2. Capacity building of health workers from health centers and districts on EPI management and epidemiological surveillance.

The capacity building will be conducted through health workers training and supervision missions in districts and health facilities.

Districts will organize supervision of health personnel in a health facility while the regions will supervise the members of the district management team and at least two health facility in each district. These missions will be utilized for the briefing of district management teams, and health workers on the management of vaccination as well as the basic concepts of epidemiological surveillance of diseases preventable by vaccination.

3. Monitoring of EPI data and disease surveillance data

It will be organized meetings monitoring activities each quarter to assess the quality of routine EPI data. Stakeholders involved in the EPI activities at each level from the Division of Immunization, data monitoring officers, UNICEF and WHO staff and the personnel in charge of social mobilization. During these meetings, the EPI data (DVD-MT, RIM, and Excel) monitoring databases (Excel and Epi Info) will be assessed. The EPI logistics component with the SMT and inventory databases will be reviewed. These meetings will enable timely identification of districts with low performance and attract the attention of management teams.
