  I'm originally from New York City, but currently living in South Texas. In addition to my academic credentials, I have more than two decades of experience in public service including more than six years in the United States Navy and thirteen years in human services. I cut my activist teeth in the organized labor movement; experience that is particularly valuable in advising activist student groups. I am currently in my third academic position and while my main teaching focus is on delivering the introductory American politics and governmet courses, I also have interests in media and politics, religion and politics, social movements and interest groups, and the organized labor movement.
