  I, Suranjana Barua, am an Assistant Professor , Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (Assam, India). I did my Phd in Linguistics from the University of Delhi (India) after which I worked at the Centre for Assamese Stuudies, Tezpur University, Assam, India before joining IIITG. My areas of academic interest are Sociolinguistics, Language Teaching and Translation Studies.
