  I was born and raised in Guatemala, my undergraduate degree is in Social Anthropology. After many years of experience working with local and international organizations, I moved to Minnesota to pursue my graduate education. I hold a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota College of Education. My dissertation focus was on the lived experiences of immigrant Latinos and how this experience impacted their families and communities. I am interested in diversity, human rights, intercultural and transnational relations, leadership, space making and equity.
