  I am currently an Associate Professor at La Salle University where I teach Psychiatric Nursing and am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a small private practice. After having been a doctoral candidate in English Literature at the University of California-Berkeley, I transitioned into psychiatric nursing and completed doctoral work in Developmental Psychology at Cornell University. I have a long commitment to the medical humanities, in particular, the use of literature and film in the teaching of mental health concepts and practice.
