Orignally from New York, Dr. Michelle Corvette is a prolific artist and researcher dividing her time between London, Paris, and Nashville, TN. She creates experiences that engage with social and politcal issues through interventions, paintings, installations, and performances. Her artwork has been exhibited both internationally and nationally in group and solo exhibitions including the Goldsmiths Art Gallery in London, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and Zeitgeist Gallery. She has won numerous awards including an Individual Artists Fellowship Grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, an International Kappa Pi Grant for her mural projects, and the Hambidge Center Creative Residency Program Award. Dr. Corvette's second Ph.D. from the University of London focused on theoretical research on the history of colour in combination with her practice as a social artist and painter, whilst her first Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee focused on emperical creativity research in higher education. Recently, she left her position at the University of London teaching critical studies to begin a new chapter at Belmont University in Nashville, TN teaching all level of painting and colour theory.
