To fathom the Middle East and its varied history, one should get an insight into the roots of Eastern civilization. The Ancient Near East history begins with states coming into existence. State is a term to denote the type of societal organization in which some of its members form a special group and take control over the society. This stage of development in its turn produces common attributes of civilization such as writing and cities, for example.
The above mentioned organization of society was originated in the Ancient Near East - in Egypt and Mesopotamia; the strong incentive for integration of people was irrigation - agricultural practices that required united efforts.

As an ancient civilization, people in ancient Mesopotamia created many brilliant heritages, such as Cuneiform, writing and tax. The Middle East not only has a long history, but also created admirable contributions to the whole human society. So it's a region deserved thoroughly study.

Checkers, a very popular board game, was originated in ancient Mesopotamia.
The first wheel was invented in ancient Mesopotamia around 3500 or 4000 BC. It was used for pottery making. Later on, it graduated to being used in irrigation as well as in a milling. The rich used the wheels for transportation.
The chariot was also invented by Mesopotamians after they discovered the wheel.
In Mesopotamia, the temple was not only a place to worship the Gods, but it was also public storage of grain and other goods.

The system of schooling was first introduced by the Sumerians in southern Mesopotamia. These people started the world’s first school called edubbas with the emergence of the concept of writing.
By the way, one of the first mentions of slavery was in the Mesopotamian Code of Hammurabi (c. 1860 BC).
thank you for this video ,actually it take me back in memory to my fifth grade in school although there are some slight differences within the information provided in the video and the Arabic references . but the topic was interesting and presented in briefly and simplified way.
