  I am a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, MB, Canada. My PhD research is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. I focus on critical health studies and the role of culture, gender, and race in a post-colonial context. I aim to engage and contribute to community development and social justice initiatives that support those who are challenged most in society due to socio-economic and cultural barriers. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor wilderness pursuits such as hiking and canoeing.
