  I am Curator of Exhibitons at the Amazwi South African Museum of Literature, and a PhD candidate at the Environmental Learning Research Centre at Rhodes University. My exhibition work involves running the development of the museum's exhibitions from conceptualisation to installation. My research focus is on the potentials for decolonial heritage praxis to integrate social-ecological perspectives. I am using a Critical Realist perspective to inform the methodology and philosphy of my work. Particular current research interests are a disruption of the dualist ontologies that underpin contemporary museum praxis, through a post-humanist critique of the core museum principle of collection (acquisition). This is rooted in Cultural Landscape perspectives on the decolonial context. More broadly, and in the context of the ICOM redefinition of the Museum, I hope to help reimagine the Museum for the South African context of entangled decolonial and social-ecological crises.
