...MoreTaisto H. Mäkelä teaches architectural history, theory, and design courses at the University of Colorado Denver in the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. He was educated at the Architectural Association in London and Princeton University where he received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Architectural History, Theory, and Criticism. Dr. Mäkelä’s current research interests include aesthetic theory, the modern movement, classicism, the history of the city and the vernacular. He was appointed as Chair of the Department of Architecture in 2009.
