...MoreDr. Susan Garton is a life-long learner and educator who has served as a teacher, principal, director of schools, and superintendent of schools before joining higher education. Currently, Dr. Garton prepares leaders for public schools as a faculty member at the College of Education, University of Alaska, Anchorage. She teaches graduate courses for aspiring principals and superintendents and supervises field experiences throughout rural Alaska. Delivery of courses and supervisory services to Bush Alaska has it challenges. The use of technology is absolutely necessary. Dr. Garton's challenge is to motivate and engage distant learners through the use of pedagogical approaches proven to be compatible with technological delivery of courses.
