Sophie is an Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide, in the Adelaide Dental School and a Education Specialsit in the Adelaide Education Academy. She is the academic lead for the University's Continuing Professional Development Program, with a background in education, oral health and dental hygiene. Sophie leads an interdisciplinary Community of Practice in the Flipped Classroom, and has been an active member of several national research projects in Flipped Classrooms and Discovery Learning. She is a Flipped Global Ambassador as ap art of the Flipped Global Network and has been the recipinet of mant teaching awards to include an Australian National Teaching Award for Excellence and two Stephen Cole the Elder Awards, which includes the Presidents and Vice Chancellor's Award. Sophie teaches and coordinates course components in human biology and clinical practice, with an emphasis on the development of culturally competent oral health practitioners. She is involved in developing evidenced based approaches to quality student centred learning and patient centred health outcomes.
Less
