...MoreProfessor Siyan Oyeweso obatained his B.A., M.A. and PhD degrees from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1982,1987 and 1995, respectively. In 1985, he joined the Lagos State University, Ojo as an Assistant Lecturer and became a Professor in 2004. Professor Oyeweso is a renowned specialist in the area of Nigerian History and politics. His major publications include Perspectives on the Nigerian Civil War (1992), Eminent Yoruba Muslims (2001), Struggle for National Liberation and social Justice (2003) and an intimidating number of publications in local and international journals. Besides, he has served as Editor/Editor-in-Chief to a number of journals including Editor-in-Chief of the Nigeria Journal of History and International Studies and Editor, Nigeria Journal of Humanities, and Nigerian Historical Review. He is currently the Provost, College of Humanities and Culture and Chairman, Committee of Provosts of Osun State University, Osogbo.
