  Silke Ann Mariano is a student of Mililani School, Mililani, Hawaii, U.S.A. Her interests lie in the areas of mathematics, physics, history of philosophy and political philosophy. The particular problems that concern her at present pertain to the ideas of the Founding Fathers of the United States, the philosophies of Karl Popper and Hannah Arendt. She intends to eventually arrive at a comparative study of the political philosophies of Hannah Arendt and Karl Popper with emphasis on their respective analyses of totalitarianism. Her interest in the history of philosophy is focused on the theories of knowledge of the modern empiricists and how they relate to the problems of skepticism and dogmatism. Less
