Sheila K. Hoffman is a 14-year veteran curator and director of fine art museums in Oklahoma, Michigan and New York. She has studied in France, Québec, and the U.S, earning her Masters in Art History at the University of Oklahoma. She has authored several books and articles, including an acclaimed examination of indigenous pottery of the Southwestern United States. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Museology, Heritage, and Cultural Mediation (Muséologie, patrimoine, et mediation) at the University of Québec at Montréal where she researches the intersection of Internet Communication Technology and material culture. In 2013, she was named as one of Canada’s prestigious Vanier Graduate Scholars for her proposed dissertation and research project titled, «Au-delà d’une méthodologie de la muséologie : la convergence entre la théorie et la pratique au carrefour des sciences de l’information» ( “Beyond a methodology of museology : the convergence of theory and practice at the intersection of information sciences”). She currently serves as a Regional Representative on the Board of Directors and chairs the subcommittee on Ethics for CurCom, the National (US) Curators Committee, and one of the Professional Networks of the American Alliance of Museums.
