I began my studies of religion at the University of Kent at Canterbury, gaining a first class BA honours degree in 2001. From there I undertook a master’s degree in Eastern Christianity at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. I then trained as an Anglican Priest in Cambridge and also carried out research on Syriac Christianity, gaining an MPhil from the Faculty of Oriental Studies. My recently completed PhD, again from SOAS, was on modern African Christianity. I teach undergraduates as a visiting lecturer at the University of Wales, Newport, but currently work full-time for the UK Civil Service. My other interests include amature astronomy and keeping bees.
