Richard E. Donnelly has been a member of the theatre faculty in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA since 1991. Rick has delivered papers on costume design and costume practices at many national and international conferences, including the 2008 Costume Society of England Symposium in Cardiff, Wales, the 2010 International Conference on Fine and Performing Arts in Athens, Greece, and the 2016 Design Principles and Practices Convention in Rio de Janeiro. He has worked nationally in the USA as a costume designer, costume maker, and costume shop manager at many regional theatres, including American Players Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Old Globe Theatre, Actor's Theatre of Louisville, The Alley Theatre in Houston, and The Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder. He has designed the costumes for two full-length feature films: "Suspended Animation" and "The Looking Glass." He is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 and the international Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 187.
