Week 3 Managers Assignment

WEEK 3 SURVEY MANAGER ASSIGNMENT
1. From the table (HH 1), it was realized that 42981 household were sampled and 40518 were interviewed. This means that out of the sampled household 2463 were not interviewed and this may due to some hindering factors leading to drop out from being interviewed. This destination of the survey were divided into rural and urban with 28413 and 14568 sampled respectively. This gives a total of the sampled household. The two divided areas were sub divided into zones with North West zone recording the highest response rate of 99.8% and South West recording the lowest response rate of 98.8%.
Out of the total sample, 6360 were eligible for the interview and recorded a total response rate of 97.3%. Grouping the areas into zones will be best to know the reasons in the response rate.
The table may be useful in survey due to:
• To know the zone that recorded the highest response rate and compare with the area zone with the lower to know the factors that influenced then responses, this will be better in putting in an intervention.
• Also, knowing the differences in the sampled and the interviewed may be useful to determine the factors causing the difference
2. From the table (HH 3 and HH 5), it was recorded that a total of 40518 for both weighted and unweighted children were selected to participate and 6268 respectively. 30769 weighted males were recorded in table HH3 and 4855 weighted females were recorded as against 3121 weighted males in table HH5 and 3111 weighted females and unweighted males in table HH3 were 27982 and 5919 weighted females as against 3147 unweighted and 3157 unweighted females.
 The factors that may have influenced the response rate could be:
• The educational level of the caretaker
• The religious affiliation
• The language barrier
• The ethnic group of the respondents
3. a. it was found out that, a total of 6268 were recorded as the weighted analysis in the table with urban response of 1970 against 4298 rural responses. This differences in response indicates that, there were more participation from the rural areas as compared to the urban areas.
Also, there were a higher rise in non-formal education as compared with the age grouping of caretakers 2873 of 20-29.
Considering the wealth index quintile, many of the respondents fall within the poorest quintile of 1454 as compared to the richest 1089. Also, Hausa recorded the highest ethnic group of 3544 and this may have influenced the response rate.
The key differences would have be in categories of the following: education of the participants, the ethnicity, the sex and the zonal area may cause the high or low if computed on weighted sample
4. Yes, analysis will be done on dates, timelines, simultaneity of vaccines recommended at the same age and missed opportunities, because this may help to know the little survey number with the particular vaccine at a particular age. Dates in vaccinations are much important to follow routine immunization by the help of the vaccination cards.
5. a. the difference fall in the zonal areas, availability of vaccine cards
b. The availability of the card will aid in the routine immunization, the absence of card may affect the validity in the vaccine coverage. To avoid missing immunization routines, vaccine cards are useful as such.
