Peter Kwok Chan is Associate Professor of Visual Communication Design at The Department of Design, The Ohio State University. He received his BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1986) and MFA from Rhode Island School of Design (1988) in graphic design. He obtained his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (2003) in Art Education. He formerly practiced brand identity design and management, visual communication design system, packaging design, and design research at Fitch (Columbus, Ohio: US headquarters) and The Procter & Gamble Company (Health Care Research Center, Mason, Ohio). His research focuses on Brand Design concerning the methods, techniques, and approaches that design students learn to explore, interpret, and apply emotion-driven design to strategic design problems. He has served as design advisor for many nonprofit, for-profit and academic groups. Peter’s creative works have won recognition from American Institute of Graphic Arts, Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA), Communication Arts, CA Interactive, HOW, IDEA, IDSA, Print, and Typography.
