Peer Sathikh studied industrial design at the Royal College of Art, London and at the Industrial Design Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Settling in Singapore in 1988, Peer co-founded a successful design consultancy, Inovasia Design in 1996. As a design consultant he has worked with companies such as Black&Decker, DeWalt, Dell, Siemens, Philips, Polycom, Wincor-Nixdorf, Westinghouse-Brakes and other small and medium companies. Peer took up his present post as Assistant Professor at the Nanyang Technological University in 2008 to teach the BFA product design program at the School of Art, Design and Media.
Since 1992, Peer has taught design as part time / visiting faculty at various institutes offering product / industrial design courses/subjects in Singapore such the School of Art, Design and Media at NTU, the School of Mechanical and Aerospace at NTU, School of Design and the Environment at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore-MIT Alliance at NTU and Design School at Temasek Polytechnic. Peer is the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Product Design and Innovation Course at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore and the member of the Advisory Committee for the Industrial Design Course at the Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore. He has been invited/guest speaker at design and product development conferences in Singapore, Japan and India where he has presented papers on the subject of design, design culture and branding.
