Panos Seranis holds a B.A (Hons) from the University of Athens, where he studied Classics, Linguistics and Modern Greek Literature. He specialised in the teaching of Classical Greek at the same University and was awarded an MPhil for a thesis entitled "The anti-war character of the Homeric Iliad and its pedagogical utilisation".
Having won a national scholarship, he went on to Cambridge University to study for his PhD. His thesis entitled "The place of reader response in the teaching of Ancient Greek literature in translation" examined the reading patterns of 35 A-Level (17-18 years old) students reading the Odyssey as part of their Classical Civilisation Course.
Panos currently holds the post of Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, working on the Cambridge Online Latin Project (COLP). This is a major government project designed to improve an understanding of the contribution that ICT could make to online teaching and learning of Latin.
Panos has also conducted research at Princeton University, having won a three-month Stanley J. Seeger Visiting Fellowship, Hellenic Studies Programme. His research focused on how students respond to different modes of reading classical texts through narrative, storytelling and visual stimuli.
He is also a contributor to the ''Iliad project'', an oral-retelling of the Homeric Iliad, intended for primary school students.
