Patricia Hoefler has her BA in Theater/Performance and MFA in Performance and Society from Rhode Island College. She is currently a full-time online instructor at University of Phoenix. Before that, she was a faculty instructional technologist at Empire State College, New York, USA. In this capacity, she assisted faculty in the pedagogical use of web 2.0 tools and learning management systems.
Previously, she taught theatre history courses for Rhode Island College, where she integrated new forms of technology into her teaching. She co-authored the chapter “Technology Approaches to Final Papers and Projects,” from the book Student Engagement and Retention using Social Technologies: Facebook, e-portfolios and other Social Networking Services. She has presented on various educational technology topics, including digital storytelling and mind mapping. She was part of the Tools of Engagement grant-funded project at Empire State College.
