  Natalie Lavoie worked as a teacher in the school community for several years before obtaining a doctorate in psychopedagogy from Laval University. She is currently a professor at the University of Quebec at Rimouski and holder of the Research Chair on school perseverance and literacy. She has strong research expertise. Her work focuses on the appropriation of reading and writing among students aged 4 to 12 as well as on the teaching practices associated with it. She has also conducted studies on the development of handwriting and the use of pencil and keyboard for writing in the classroom. She has published various articles on these subjects. Her research has earned her various awards and recognitions.
