  Muhammad Obie is teaching rural and coastal sociology; Theories of Classical Sociology; Theories of Modern Sociology; Sociology of Economy; as well as Industrialisation. In 2015 graduated his doctoral on rural sociology at Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia. His dissertation under the title “The Hijacking of Coastal and Marine Customary Right for Land Rights of the Bajo Tribe Community: A Case of Coastal and Marine Resources Management at Tomini Bay.” In 2016 he followed postdoctoral fellows at University of Vienna, Austria. He ever became a consultant of poverty eradication programs which was funded either by the World Bank, International NGO, or Indonesian Government. His interest of research is on natural resources conflicts and poverty issues.
