Michael Hau has a M.A. from the University of Tuebingen (Germany) and a Ph. D. from the University of Iowa. He spent some time as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin. As Senior Lecturer at Monash University in Australia he is teaching subjects in European history and the history of medicine. He is broadly interested in the history of bio-politics and has published numerous articles on the history of medicine and the body as well as two books: Performance Anxiety: Sport and Work in Germany from the Empire to Nazism (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 2017) andThe Cult of Health and Beauty in Germany. A Social History, 1890-1930. (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2003).
