Michael Cote is an independent consultant specializing in climate change and urban planning. His primary focus is sustainable land-use, climate adaptation, and environmental policy in the United States. He has extensive experience working in Scandinavian countries.
He is an expert reviewer on the IPCC's WGII AR5, and Associate Editor for the International Journal of Climate Change.
Mr. Cote regularly leads project teams and working groups, and has consulted with governments, non-profits, and universities, including the UNFCCC, USGCRP, EPA, White House-CEQ, ACCO, and others.
He has a special interest in communities vulnerable to sea level rise, and is interested in translating adaptation policy at the UN and in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Germany.
