  Esther Maloney directs Illumine Media Project, which works with youth in Toronto neighbourhoods, creating and sharing original narrative media content. She has worked for over a decade in both theatre and film as an actor, director, writer and producer in both professional and community contexts. Esther holds a BFA in Theatre Preformance from Concordia University in Montreal and is currently pursuing her MA at OISE/UT researching applied theatre, the way young people understand media and ultimately create their own stories. Esther was a panelist at both the 2018 Parliament of the Worlds' Religions as well as the 2018 Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations, sharing experiences related to media and the empowerment of women.
