Megan Hinrichsen is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology and a member of the Global Food Security Initiative at Monmouth College, USA. Her primary research interests are the causes and consequences of malnutrition for individuals, communities, and societies. She is a medical and nutritional anthropologist who researches issues of nutrition, food security, and gender in economic development in Latin America. In the United States, her work focuses on the local impacts of food security in rural communities and on college campuses. She earned her Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University, USA.
