Currently completing a PhD through the University of Tasmania, Australia, Marie's research is focusing on understanding how teachers in low socioeconomic areas of regional Tasmania develop and apply knowledge and skills in self-regulation to manage stress. With 30 years experience as an educator, she has worked in both Canadian and Australian schools, in public and private school settings, and across a diversity of roles, both teaching and administration. Marie's curiosity and passion lies in bringing the research on self-regulation by Dr Stuart Shanker into educational settings, to assist teachers and their students improve their understanding of how the brain and body responds to stress, and provide a process to manage stressors.
