I am a recent graduate student from the Master of Arts Religion and Modernity program at Queen’s University, a leading Canadian institution. Currently, I am employed with Queen’s University as a marker and occasional lecturer. I am also employed as a research assistant for Nishiiyuu Miyupimaatisiun, the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay. We are currently working on a project reconstituting traditional rites of passage wilderness programming. I am primarily interested in the relationship between religion and the environment and also how religious institutions facilitate political change and environmental reform in a transnational context. I intend to pursue a PhD in the field of religion and ecology next fall at the University of Toronto where I will continue to investigate indigenous responses to nuclear waste disposal on native lands.
