Marjelle Vermeulen works as a researcher at the Impact Centre Erasmus (ICE), where she conducts research for and with different non-profit and for-profit organizations on the social impact of their business activities. ICE is not only focussing on the question if intended impacts are achieved, but also on the question how the intended impacts can be achieved. Moreover, Marjelle is a PhD Candidate Social Impact of Culture at Impact Centre Erasmus (ICE) and the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC). In this PhD research she answers the question how social impact of cultural participation can be measured. Moreover, she tries to answer the question what the effect is of cultural participation on society and individual people, and how cultural organizations can optimize these effects.
