  My background is in foreign languages, of which I speak five. I teach Simultaneous Interpreting, thus the interest in Neurolinguistics and the interpretation of culturally embedded facts and events for other cultures and world-views. I am a highly gregarious researcher, working on elements as diverse (or not necessarily so) as Humour, Intangible Heritage, Re-Inventing Tourism in Mature Tourist Resorts, Climate Change and Consumer Psychology. I have a very strong research group which tries to get undergraduates doing practical and applicable theses. My work is now mainly centred on Africa, Brazil and the Canary Islands where I live. Less
