Lisa J. Lehmberg is Associate Professor and Coordinator of Music Education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. She holds a Ph.D. degree in music education from the University of South Florida, as well as Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in piano performance from the University of Illinois. Dr. Lehmberg’s teaching interests include general music education, music education research, global perspectives on music education, and lifelong learning in music. Her research interests include senior citizens’ participation in music and urban music education. She is a frequent presenter at state, national, and international conferences and recently co-authored the book Music for Life: Music Participation and Quality of Life of Senior Citizens (2016, Oxford University Press).
