  I am one of the first persons from Mustang District to be formally educated. A graduate of St. Joseph's College (BA), in Bangalore, India and Bangalore Univerity (MA in Mass Communications), in 2010 I was one of two candiates awarded the coveted Migma Norbu Sherpa Memorial Scholarship for graduate study at Lincoln Univeristy, Christchurch, New Zealand. In 2012 I received the Master of Tourism with Specialization in Sustainable Community Development. Since returning to Nepal I have served as a Peace Officer for the Government of Nepal in Mustang District while continuing to promote sustainable ecotourism and seek funding for Kagbeni to become a cultural heritage preservation environment in order to protect the inner village (16th century monastery and surrounding mud houses) from furthper decay due to encroachment by development and changing climate conditions.
