  Kirk Johnson was raised for most of his childhood in the mountains of Western India and returned to the United States for University at the age of 17 and found himself drawn to the social sciences. His areas of research and academic interest include development and social change, globalization, mass media, culture and character education. Kirk is also very involved in community development activities throughout the Pacific working closely with Baha’i communities in their grassroots efforts at empowering their neighborhoods through such core activities as children’s classes, junior youth empowerment programs, devotional gatherings and training institutes to build capacity for individuals, families and entire villages to transform themselves materially and spiritually.
