Karen Mow is Executive Manager of the Institute for Applied Ecology at the University of Canberra. She manages the Institute, teaches and conducts research. Her work includes governance and research capacity building. Previously she worked for ten years managing programs and policy in the peak Australian research councils. Karen has taught in schools and run her own businesses.
In 2008 Karen was awarded Southern Cross University, School of Commerce and Management Alumnus of the Year for “national level leadership and innovation in relation to research management and performance in the higher education sector”.
Her doctoral thesis on research grant funding was accepted without amendment and conferred in 2009.
