Kathleen Reeves is a Ph.D. student in the English Department at the University of Washington, where she studies 20th- and 21st-century American literature and culture. She is interested in the relationship between the body and capitalism, with an emphasis on sensory experience, especially touch. Reeves’s research focuses on the articulation of subjectivity in literature written during the rise of the New Right in America, and on the ways in which this literature complicates or contests legal and political narratives of privatism and liberal self-possession. She received a BA in English from Yale University and an MA in Humanities and Social Thought from NYU.
