Jovita Jones Lewis is a native of Emelle, Alabama and is presently employed with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System as an Extension Specialist. Housed in the Hale County Office, Jovita provides supervision and support to twelve west central Alabama counties that participate in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP).
Jovita is a 1988 graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics Education and a 2002 graduate of the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama where she earned a Master of Education Administration.
Previously, Jovita taught Home Economics at Hayneville Middle School for the Lowndes County Board of Education (1988-1989), provided leadership for the Chilton County 4-H Club program (1989-1992), provided leadership for Hale County's 4-H Club program (1992-1995) and has served the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program in several capacities since 1995.
Jovita is currently a member of the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service Employees Organization, the Extension Specialist Association, the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences, and the Sarah Christian Civic Club.
