Ms. Joanne Kropp has a MA in History from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and is now ABD in Borderlands History at UTEP. Her fields are Borderlands History, World History, and Latin American History. Her MA thesis won both the College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Thesis Award and The University of Texas at El Paso’s Outstanding Thesis Award in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Since 2001 she has been a full-time lecturer at UTEP teaching the Seminar in Critical Inquiry course for the Entering Student Program and open enrollment and Honors courses in American History, World History, Latin American History, and Women’s Studies. Her research interests include environmental history, gender, legal history, and economic history. She also serves as co-advisor for the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society at UTEP.
