Dr John Kubiak works in the National Institute for Intellectual Disability, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He is currently co-ordinator of the Certificate in Contemporary Living (CCL), an educational programme for people with intellectual disabilities. John’s doctoral research was conducted with the input of CCL students and has resulted in a model of how intellectually disabled students learn while in tertiary education. In 2012 John was a recipient of Trinity College’s prestigious Provost Teaching Award which is designed to recognise and reward staff who have made an outstanding contribution in the pursuit of teaching excellence. In 2013 John was awarded a Post-doctorate research position and bursary from Trinity’s School of Education. His research interests include: inclusion in Higher Education; inclusive research; learning and people with intellectual disabilities.
