  My work focuses on the landscape as a medium of political engagement. I have written a book on John Nolen and am considering this paper topic regarding the New Deal and the landscapes of Montana for my next book project. I teach food system seminars, histories of the common American landscape and a site ethics course. I also run studios that alternately support a local community (Northwest Aurora) in examining environmental factors and health and an upper level studio that looks at the connection between infrastructure, philosophy and political form - titled "Infrastructure and Utopia" this term. I have a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and have attained my professional registration as an architect. I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer and have worked with numerous local and national organizations that focus on justice in the built environment, including the Association for Community Design and Architects/Designers/Planners for Social Responsibility.
