...MoreMy work has been focused on educating and training individuals in professional, community, and informal settings. A major area of interest is providing manageable materials to informal caregivers with limited knowledge, skills, or abilities who accept the task to provide care for a chronically ill person. The level of involvement by the caregiver and their knowledge of the disease management will directly impact the care recipients’ health. With a terminal degree in Public Health and a concentration in community health promotion and education, I have secured funds to work in community setting with multiple agencies to provide informal education to the informal, adult learner. My interests rest in increasing the knowledge of the adult learner in the community setting by modifying community programs. Many adult learners are challenged with the increased use of technology and the delivery of educational materials. Published materials are not aligned with literacy levels of the consumers.
