I am working on social responsibility in the mineral exploration and mining industry. My background is in natural sciences and research management (including leadership of provincial and federal geological survey organizations). I am a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada International Affairs Committee, of the Executive Committee of the Centre for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Part of the Government of Canada's CSR strategy), the Evironment and Social Responsibility Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas del Perú and the International Association for the Promotion of Geoethics (for which I am the co-cordinator for Canada). After retirement I obtained an M.A. in International Development and Globalization and a Ph. D. in sociology. My other interests include human resources management, meeting facilitation, intercultural communication, Latin America, and languages.
