Jani is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia Law school, where she teaches Intellectual Property Law, Creative Expression and the Law, and Marketing law. Jani has an LLB, a BA(Hons) and an LLM by research. She has co-edited The Research Handbook on Art and Law (Edward Elgar, 2020) and is currently co-editing International Perspectives on Disability Exceptions in Copyright and the Visual Arts: Feeling Art (Routledge 2019), and writing her monograph Literary Characters in Intellectual Property Law (Edward Elgar, 2020). Jani has published numerous peer reviewed articles in respected Australian and international journals and has presented at national and international conferences and seminars on intellectual property and art law issues. Jani convened the Art After Death symposium in Perth 2013, the Art in Law in Art Conference in Perth 2017, and co-convened the Feeling Art International Experts Workshop in Maastricht, 2018.
