I research digital content, online communities, and the sociological import of Internet culture at the University of Washington, where I am pursuing my Ph.D. in English Literature and Language. I earned my M.A. in Social Sciences at the University of Chicago in 2010, where my work focused on the relationships between cultural content and capitalism, with emphasis in popular culture fandom. As a result of this background my research tends to employ methodologies more commonly found in social science disciplines to explore common theoretical themes in the humanities, such as late capital, new media, and social discourse. My current research focuses on the Internet as a sociocultural and political space, network theory, online identity, digital communities, and the economics of Internet content.
